For the first time ever, two evening courses will be held for the convenience of metro KC Rotarians. On March 19 and 27, Part II of the RLI course will be offered for those who have completed Part I. These sessions will begin at 5:30 p.m. and end at about 8:45 p.m. at the Woodneath branch of the Mid-Continent Public Library, 8900 NE Flintrock Road, Kansas City 64157.

Our Club's primary fund raising event is an night packed full of action. Mark Alford will be our MC again this year and we will have a live auction, silent auction, cash jar raffle and the mian event the reverse raffle with a $10,000 grand prize, $1000 consolation prize and more. Tickets are $150 which includes entrance to the Museum, dinner for two and one entry into the reverse raffle. Only 200 tickets are sold for this event.

The 7th Annual Independence Uncorked Wine Festival will be held on September, 14th, 2019 from 1:00pm-6:00pm on the grounds of the Historic Bingham-Waggoner Estate in Independence, MO. Uncorked will be one of the largest Missouri wine festivals in the state featuring 25 Missouri wineries sampling several of their wines, a guest spirits distiller, and over 2500 attendees. The day will also feature art, music, beer, food booths and wine classes. The event is hosted by the Rotary Club of Eastern Independence and presented by Stewardship Capital. The cost will be $30 in advance and $40 at the door and will include a wine glass and 4 bottle wine bag (for 1st 2000 people). Beneficiaries have included the McCoy Park all-inclusive Play Ground, Great Plains SPCA, Community Services League, Independence School District Character Plus Program, Special Olympics, Shoes for Orphan Soles, Shelter Box, Job One, CAPA, Hope House, Rotary Youth Camp, Drumm Farm for Kids and the Rotary Foundation to name just a few. This year’s charity of choice is Restoration House of Greater Kansas City-Ending Human Trafficking. Bring your lawn chairs and spend the afternoon.
