All around the world, Rotarians set aside November to celebrate the work of The Rotary Foundation during Foundation Month.  District 6040 celebrates as well by holding our annual Foundation Dinner.

We have often been asked why we give to The Rotary Foundation and other charities we believe in.  We all have our reasons to give; Medical Missions, Group Study Exchange, Rotary Peace Centers, New Generations…the work of our Foundation is nearly limitless.  But how often are we asked, “How” do we give?  How Rotary Clubs and Rotarians are as different as the 55 clubs in our district.  Some clubs assess Foundation Contributions in their dues creating a burden on the club officers to fill out the necessary forms.  Others depend on fundraisers and the initiative of Rotarians making their contributions.

Let me suggest to you some of the new and innovative ways to contribute to help with the “how”.  Rotary International has made some significant improvements in their on-line giving programs and tax reporting.  Through Member Access of the Rotary International website, www.rotary.org  Rotarians can contribute directly to The Rotary Foundation by making a charge on their credit card.  Or, here is another, “how”… through Rotary Direct (previously referred to as TRF Direct),   Rotarians can sign up to have contributions to our foundation deducted from their checking or savings account.  “How” else?  You can even have your contribution added to your credit card billing statement.  These new recurring forms of contribution will give you full credit towards you next Paul Harris Fellowship award, plus, full credit is given to your club and to District 6040.  What better ways to give to our Foundation, support the wonderful programs of Rotary and, better still, relieve your club officers of the paper work!

The process is simple, log on to www.rotary.org, click on the upper right corner for Member Access and follow the prompts to an easier “how”.

Need help?  We are here to assist you with any questions involving The Rotary Foundation.  Give us a call for your next club meeting and someone from our Foundation team will be glad to answer all of the questions you have about one of the great charitable organizations in the world…The Rotary Foundation.
