As we begin the 2024-2025 Rotary year, we have a chance to build on the numerous successes of the past year, to grow Rotary, and to continue to provide invaluable service in our local communities and around the world.
Our District 6040 leadership team is here to serve you as a club leader and Rotarian. To see who serves on the committees of the district, please visit https://rotary6040.org/DistrictOrganizationChartPhoto/2024
A few of the initiatives of the district that you’ll see featured in the district newsletter throughout the year that I would encourage everyone to learn about our District Grants (every club Is encouraged to apply, and thanks to the generosity of our Rotarians in 2021-2022, we have a lot of funds to spend on District Grants this year), Global Grants (your club can participate in meaningful International Service without expending any club funds), Rotary Youth Exchange (consider hosting a student in 2025-2026 in your Rotary community), Rotary Friendship Exchange (travel the world), and the new Peace and Conflict Resolution anti-bullying program for girls called “Step Up”.
Every club is eligible to submit up to $200 of qualifying expenses in the 2024-2025 Rotary year for holding a membership recruitment or retention event or initiative. We all know that Rotary offers so much to prospective members, and we are putting our money where our mouth is to support the membership plans of the local clubs.
If we all keep close to our hearts the core Rotary values of Service, Integrity, Leadership, Diversity, and Fellowship, who knows what kind of magic will be created throughout Northern Missouri this Rotary year?
In Rotary Service,
Erik McGuire, District Governor 2024-2025, Rotary Club of St. Joseph East
