These are challenging times in too many ways.  The pressures being exerted on our families, friends and institutions is painful.  But what is even worse is the not knowing what to expect; when will shelter in place end, when can I go back to work, to worship and to serve.

A lot of you have reached out with questions regarding your District Grant projects.  We recognize that it is likely impossible or at least improbable that many of our “Kimbrough Challenge” 2019-2020 District Grant projects will be completed in time to create a final grant report by May 31, 2020.  The weather was an issue in many areas this winter but the overwhelming issue now is the pandemic.  In light of this we are extending the date for the completion of the projects and the filing of the final reports until September 30, 2020.
Compared to all of the other issues surrounding us this seems somewhat minor but we wanted to let you know as soon as we could so that you can revise your project plans accordingly.  Expect more information from the District Grants team with regard to Grants training, application submittals and the timetable for the 2020-2021 District Grant projects in the coming week.

You will also see some information in the April newsletter concerning the Rotary Foundations recent decisions regarding efforts to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.  If you have a project in your community that is focused on the pandemic please contact your Assistant Governor or the District Grants committee for ideas as to how the Rotary Foundation can possibly help.

Yours in Rotary Service.
