Rotarians,

These few months before the Holidays are busy with Rotary business that allows you, as a District 6040 Rotarian, the opportunity to shape your District in the future.  Possibly most impactful is the opportunity for you to encourage and nominate someone from your club to be D6040's District Governor for 2015-16.  I have to admit, this is the most rewarding, busy, fulfilling,  and fun body of volunteer work I have ever been involved with and I would encourage you to consider yourself or someone you know.

Not only do you, District 6040 Rotarians, have the opportunity to name your future District Governor, but you also have the opportunity to lead a team of young professionals to District 4660 (Brazil) for a Group Study Exchange.  Our district has been to D4660 before, and we are extremely lucky to be able to go again.  We are looking for applications for Team Leader for this exchange.  In addition, we are looking for GSE Team Members.  These non-rotarian team members have the opportunity to change lives.  Yes, change lives. They will, without a doubt, change their perspective on service to others and will certainly influence the lives of the Rotarian hosts they stay with in Brazil.  If any Rotarian knows of a professional who would like to travel the world, this is a wonderful opportunity.

Information and applications for the Group Study Exchange Team Leaders and Team Members are available for download on this website.  Please take a look and share this information with anyone you think would be a good ambassador for this great organization of Rotary.  Remember, Rotary has been good to us and we want to share this goodness with others.

Another fun item to mark on your calendar is the Annual District 6040 Foundation Dinner on November 3, 2012. We will gather in the KCI Expo Center in the Northland to celebrate all the clubs' successes last year.  This is a fun event enjoyed from many Rotarians from all over the District.  You will greet old friends and meet new ones.  Our keynote speaker is Lynn Hammond, a trustee of The Rotary Foundation, who will give us more information on the good works of The Rotary Foundation.  Each of you has received save the date cards, so please visit with our club members and get share a table.

Yours in Rotary Fellowship and Fun,

Kenny Harris,
District Governor, 2012-13
