On behalf of the District 6040 Leadership, I wish each of you a very Merry Christmas and a Healthy, Happy and Prosperous New Year for 2013.

This Christmas season allows all of us to pause and reflect where we have been, where we are currently at, and where we want to go with our personal, professional, and yes even our Rotary life.

We have been conditioned to think of Christmas as a season of giving and receiving gifts.  I believe all of us know this is not the real reason for Christmas, but lets visit the gift giving/receiving thought for a moment.  Allow me to ask a few questions to promote some thought....

Since each of us are charged with promoting Rotary and to develop our membership,

     - Do you feel you received a gift when someone invited you to Rotary?

     - Have you given the gift of inviting someone to join Rotary?

     - How do you feel about the person who did invite you to Rotary?

     - Wouldn't you like to have someone feel about you as you do your Rotary sponsor?

OK, enough of the questions.

I believe there are Rotarian quality people in our communities and they just don't know it yet.  They are waiting to be asked by someone who will be a hero in their eyes forever.

Who will that be?

Wishing each of you a very blessed Christmas and a Happy New Year,

Kenneth E (Kenny) Harris

District Governor, 2012-13
