The Klinginsmith Cup was first awarded for the 2009-10 Rotary year and was instituted to honor our Rotary International President, Ray Klinginsmith (Kirksville Rotary Club) who served as RI President in 2010-11. The award is presented to the club that meets two criteria that President Ray values:
1. Earning the Presidential Citation for the Rotary year and
2. Making the highest per capita contribution to The Rotary Foundation Annual Fund/SHARE for the Rotary Year.
President-Elect Erik Dickinson accepted the award on behalf of the Kansas City Plaza Rotary Club 2017-18 President, Jeff Chapman. In being told of the award, Jeff said, “For Rotary to achieve long-term sustainability, a balanced program of the work for the Presidential Citation and giving to The Rotary Foundation is needed. Kansas City Plaza Rotary is committed to working on these goals.”
