Kansas City Day project where in the mid-80's the President of the Kansas City "13" Rotary Club worked out an agreement with the KC Star to donate newspapers to be sold by Rotary Clubs all over the KC area on the Royals opening day.
Half of the money raised goes to support the Rotary Youth Camp on Colburn Road and the other half to the individual Rotary clubs that raise funds for their individual humanitarian service projects.
The youth in this picture are Truman Rotary Interact Club students helped by Kiwanis Key Club members. They were supported with their Truman staff teachers; Mr Levi Goes and Ms Becky Schubkegal respectively. This group worked at Gate 6 at Kaufman Stadium and raised $1,200 to support the Camp and other Independence Club humanitarian projects. The group pictured were coordinated by Rotarian Fred Hahn.
