Thinking about undertaking an International Project? Global Grants are FUN! It is a great opportunity to meet Rotarians from around the world; even if it is via ZOOM. You get to tell your friends and neighbors how your Rotary club helps people thousands of miles away through your club's sponsoring a Global Grant. There is a great deal of satisfaction in helping a community thousands of miles away improve the quality of life for their neighbors too. Rotary International wants to help District 6040 clubs find good International projects.
There are several ways to participate in International projects:
- Cash contributions directly to the host Rotary Club or to a grant sponsored by others.
- District Grants; Our District's policy is that if there are funds available after all of the community projects are fulfilled we will allow District Grants to fund international projects. All other District Grant Rules apply. This is a matching grant.
- Global Grants; Where your club serves as the International Sponsor on a grant that is hosted by a Rotary club in another country. These projects may be totally funded by District Designated Funds (DDF) with an 80% World Fund match and may not require a local contribution.
