RLI
At the conclusion of very successful evening sessions in March and April, eleven more District 6040 Rotarians graduated from the District’s Rotary Leadership Institute (RLI).  This brings to 82 the number of graduates from the club leadership program since its inception in 2014.  They have come from 26 different Rotary clubs.

The newest graduates (pictured) are Dalyn Novak and Sandy Knoernschild, Parkville; Frank Dixon and Pat Knauss, Liberty; Trish Kennedy and Donna Best, Blue Springs; Jordan Assel, Cameron; Beth Franklin and Ilene Shehan, Independence; Matt Sanning, Lee’s Summit; and Becky Treccariche, Richmond.
“RLI changed so much for me by providing an understanding of what this organization is about, where our district and club should focus our efforts, as well as giving me confidence to ask questions that may have never come in a different format.”  -- 2019 Graduate

RLI participants and facilitators have now invested almost 5,000 hours – not including travel time – to gain Rotary knowledge, polish their leadership and facilitation skills, and exchange ideas with Rotarians from other clubs around the District.

“We are all about building bigger, better, bolder and stronger clubs in the District,” Jerry Venters, the District RLI Coordinator, said.  “I’m thrilled at the participation in RLI this year and the number of Rotarians who have graduated.  They will be better and stronger leaders in their clubs and in the district.”

For the first time, evening classes were held in Kansas City, at Woodneath Library just west of Liberty, for Part II participants in March and for Part III participants in April.  Sixteen persons attended a part or all of the sessions, with 11 graduating.
