District 6040 Announces District Governor Nominee Designate

Congratulations to Kent Shelman

District 6040 is proud to announce the selection of Kent Shelman to the position of District Governor Nominee Designate.  He will become District Governor in July 2022, following current District Governor Marc Horner, District Governor Elect Don Gladhart, and District Governor Nominee David McCaughey.  He is a member of the Rotary Club of Lee's Summit.

Kent has been active and engaged in Rotary since 1992, when he joined the Lee's Summit club, and served as Club President in 1999-2000.  He served three-year terms as Assistant Governor, District Grants Chair, District Strategic Planning Chair, and is a Rotary Leadership Institute (RLI) Facilitator.  He attended the Centennial Rotary International Convention in Chicago in 2005.  He is a Paul Harris Fellow and a Bequest Society Member.

This summer he completed his sixth season as a Rotary Counselor at the Rotary Youth Leadership Academy (RYLA).  "It amazes me to see high school kids transform into young adults over the course of three to four days," Shelman said.  "This was a great year, and a lot of fun."

Congratulations to Kent Shelman!
"I am very honored and humbled," says Kent.  "Being the Governor of District 6040 has been a long-term aspiration for me.  I look forward to the opportunity to serve."
